Pokémon Direct 6.6.2017 thoughts
Announcements:
- Pokémon Gold and Silver to release on September 22 to the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console.
- Pokkén Tournament DX to release on September 22 to the Nintendo Switch.
- Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon to release on November 17 to the Nintendo 3DS.
The Pokémon community is enraged over the lack of a main series Pokémon game for the Switch. We all wanted Pokémon Stars, but instead got Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon for the 3DS. I’m only slightly disappointed that Nintendo, Game Freak and the Pokémon Company couldn’t bring Pokémon to the Switch. As a Pokémon fan, I know better than to expect something for a new console so quickly. Pokémon games are typically released two years after the latest handheld system is released.
I believe that we will get a Sinnoh remake next year as the last main series Pokémon game for the 3DS, and possibly for a dedicated handheld system. As I’ve said before, I believe Nintendo will bridge the gap between handheld and home console systems and no longer make two separate systems. I believe that the next main series game will be for the Switch, will come out either 2019 or 2020 and will be open world. Of course, they may not do this, but it’s nice to dream, right?

HA! Found Pokedex Radio four weeks ago right after Episode 100, and then nothing. Glad you’re back, Austin!
Don’t worry, I take longer than expected breaks from the show on occasion, but I eventually get an episode out. I’m happy to see a new Trainer listening to the show! 🙂
