Johto Legendary Pokémon – FSPR87

Johto Legendaries - Suicune, Raikou and Entei

Johto Legendaries

Johto has a total of six legendary Pokémon, consisting of “guardians” of some sort. The first legendary Pokémon encountered in the game are the legendary trio of Raikou, Entei and Suicune. The second legendary duo which are Lugia (the guardian of the seas) and Ho-oh (the guardian of the skies) are encountered next. The final Johto legendary, Celebi (the guardian of the Ilex Forest), can only be obtained from a Nintendo Event.

A special Celebi will be available for those who download and access the Pokémon Bank by September 30, 2014.

Lugia and Ho-ohLugia and Ho-oh once resided in Ecruteak City in the Brass Tower and Bell Tower, respectively. Some time before your Johto journey, the Brass Tower is burned down and three Pokémon perish in the destruction. Lugia then leaves Ecruteak City and finds residence in the Whirl Islands. The legendary trio of Raikou, Entei and Suicune were resurrected by Ho-oh from three Pokémon who perished in the Brass Tower. Ho-oh then returns to the Bell Tower, while the legendary trio roam around the Johto region.

251-CelebiThe only way to obtain Celebi in HeartGold and SoulSilver was through a special Nintendo distribution that was held in 2011. Having a Celebi unlocks an in-game event that shows Silver arguing with Team Rocket leader Giovanni. Afterwards, you are able to battle Giovanni, which answers the question as to why he doesn’t answer the disbanded Team Rocket’s call over the radio after they take over the Goldenrod City Radio Tower.
