Garchomp and Scizor Serial Code Distribution at US Walmart Stores

Walmart stores will be selling special Pokémon X and Y games that include either a Garchomp or Scizor distribution code. These codes will be available in specially marked Pokémon X and Y games sold at Walmart stores until June 30, 2014. The Garchomp serial code will be in Pokémon X and Scizor will be in Pokémon Y games.

This is a slap in the face to those of us who purchased Pokémon X and Y within the past two months. Hopefully something will be available to those who already purchased the games, but only time will tell.

The special pokemon thing kind of ticks me off too. It just seems like a slap in the face. To the people who bought it earlier. There is certainly nothing wrong with waiting but everybody should have access to those. I read somewhere that they’re shiny and perfect IVs but I can’t be certain that’s what they are. I enjoyed this episode! Thank you! keep up the good work.

I agree with you on the topic of special pokémon. And just because certain pokémon will be perfect EVs also the fun of breeding as well. To me personally shiny pokémon have no value to me, but then again I haven’t caught one so I am not to certain if there any benefit, if any at all

Xantros, thank you for the comment. I’m happy you enjoyed the show.

It’s just unfair for those of us who bought the games early. I haven’t read anywhere if the Scizor or Garchomp are shiny or have perfect IVs. Regardless of their stats, I would still enjoy a free Pokémon.

I understand why some may be upset. As loyal customers, we expect to be respected in the sense that we are all valued enough to receive game extras. Am I annoyed at the decision to make those two pokemon exclusive to Walmart, no and yes.

No, because in reality they are nothing special. From the reports I have seen so far, they come in cherish balls and have moves and abilities which may be obtained in game. Therefore, there is no direct advantage one may have from receiving either. I rather breed a guarenteed perfect Scizor or Garchomp.

But, I am uneasy by the principle of the exclusivity. When a company starts allowing any type of exclusive distributor content, it usually spirals into bigger marketing ploys to take advantage of consumers, loyal or casual.

I still haven’t seen much information about the Garchomp or Scizor Walmart distribution codes. I hope they are not something special like Shiny or Max IV / EV Pokémon. But from everything I read, they’re just normal.

I, too, am wary of exclusive events like this. One thing that I completely disagree with are the GameStop events here in the United States. I hold a strong stance against Game Stop and am not a fan of many Pokémon events being exclusive to them. I would prefer events to be over Wi-Fi. These days, you would have a difficult time to find someone who can’t get an Internet connection and would rely on a brick and mortar store to download an event. Personally, I use my phone for my DS’s Internet connection even though I have Wi-Fi at home because the connection doesn’t reach to certain rooms.
